How many years have we, the inhabitants in a small city called Kuching, been longing for an iconic building? How many ? I guess all of us have lost count.

Finally 2 years ago, a gem sprouted it’s roots into our ground, and after much waiting in anticipation, the Gem has finally bloomed into it’s glowing state.

May i present to you, our new city gem,

The Dune building!!

I really love this picture, it does make the Dune seems like a gem doesn’t it ?

TA DA!! The Dune, our new parliament building!!

Not sure if they are going to open for the public though. The opening ceremony if i’m not wrong, will be from 27th July 2009 – 29th July 2009. So all the Agongs ( Kings), Sultans ( Prince) , our Prime Minister and all the other Ministers of our nation are all here in the city!! I’m sure it’s gonna be the biggest event ever held in Kuching! ( Well, correct me if i’m wrong…hehe)

I didn’t want to put any arrow on the above photo to indicate the new and old parliament building, simply because i didn’t want to spoil the image!! hehe…anyway, the building on the right, rectangular tall building is our old parliament building. And the one on the left, no doubt is the new building!! See the difference?

Here is another view across the other side of the river.  I really hope they will open this building to the public, @ least i get to have a glimpse of how the interior looks like!!

It’s gonna be a happening 3 nights in a row starting from tonight!!
