I seriously think that having a well done up clinic is almost as important as having a well done up bathroom in your own home. Just imagine, if you have a poshed bathroom@ home completed with all the right materials and equipments, do you mind to spend double the time as you normally would spend in there? My answer would be yes.

Same goes with the clinic. I think a person is @ their weakest point when falling sick, i mean you don’t have the energy, you feel so low, everything just doesn’t feel right. All you need is either the love/caring from somebody, something to make you feel better, and going to a nice clinic will make a hell lot of difference to a patients mood. Believe it or not ?

Unfortunately, so far i haven’t come across any clinic here that i would say have put in some effort to make their patients feel a little less scare and a little more warmth. They all look as if they couldn’t wait for the money to come flowing in. They would keep the design of their clinic to the minimum. Minimum doesn’t equal to being Minimalist. I doubt in a million years there will be a clinic with minimalist design over here.

Just when i was utterly disappointed with the clinic design here, i came across what i would call a ” REAL” clinic in Singapore.

When i was still having my vacation in Singapore early June, i accompanied my sister to have her eyes checked @ Singapore National Eye Centre. I wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary, because of the too lousy of a design clinic in my hometown, i actually thought anywhere else might be the same!! It might not be as run down as some of the clinics here , but i thought they might be more or less the same, like their layout and the functionality of the space.

Until i was greeted by this,

Wtf? is this really a clinic?

With a view of nature ?

If i were to tell you this is actually a hotel lobby rather than a clinic, will you believe me ?

Those doors that you see are actually different clinics occupied by different eye doctor.  Yeap, you do have a choice, a choice between a  normal doctor or a senior consultant? And the price varies. And seriously, if i were on leave, i really don’t mind waiting for hours in this clinic, do you? But the problem is, you don’t have to wait too long!!!

See the number 3430? This is when you know if it’s your turn already. Unlike over here, nurses still have to open the doors and shout your name!  It was damn embarrassing ok ?

See the veneer door panel? It was actually a sliding door!! I mean the design is so sleek and modern, most important thing is they manage to keep the place glamourously clean and tidy!!! I’m gonna give it a 5 thumps up!!

So after having to see what our neighbouring country is doing, isn’t it time for some clinics here to get their gears going, @ least a bit ?
