Making fake Burgers
Sounds crazy?
I 1st get to know the existence of “cooking kitchen” through my darling sister, who happens to know almost anything about Japanese toys. ( Except adult toys, which i’m sure most of you out there would have an idea what it is, how it looks like and the different range they have….ooops!! ) Ok, back to children toys…..
I have my fingers on the 1st set of cooking kitchen my sister bought about few months ago, it was about making tamago rice ( rice wrap in eggs). If you haven’t already know what it is, you can see the whole process again by clicking here. I didn’t do very well on my 1st attempt, so now i’m going to give it another go @ making burgers!!! Read on to see how it all turned out!!
And so, i open the box and assembled all the parts…….( yeap it was just like building your own kitchen…the funny part is they have hell lot of stickers to stick on the bloody thing….so all i could remembered was sticking stickers again and again!! And it does bring back the childhood memories! Which i don’t really understand, why was i so into stickers @ one point of my life?! ofcourse i then moved onto loving knickers!! hehehe)
So after sticking millions of stickers and putting everything into place….the kitchen finally looks like this,

Can you count how many stickers are present in this photo?? If not, there are more views here,

Anyway, forget about the stickers!!….Basically the structure of the kitchen is pretty simple…we have a stove, an oven, some cooking utensils, cutting board….they all look kinda funny, until we know what they are meant for!!
So, as i said earlier, i’m gonna try making burgers! So how do i start?
With these!

Besides providing you with some basic cooking tools, the main ingredient however would be these small packets of magical goodies. See the bun image ? Meaning this is what you use to make burger buns!! So all i need to do is, open the packet, pour the powder into the red container and mix it with some water!!! Like this!

And all we need after this is some water and mix’em up!!!

Mix’em !! Stir with all the energy you have….to make it smooth……

After smoothen out the mixture, pour it into the mold to make the buns!

After having to pour the mixtures into the molds, we then put them into the oven and let it “fake” bake for a while!! The oval shape mold is actually to make hotdog buns!!
While waiting for the buns to bake, let’s make the meat shall we?
Same like the buns, we have another packet of magical powders;

This packet of ingredients is to make the meat!!
Same process as making the buns….open the packet, pour in some water and mix it up!! @ 1st i thought why did they only ask for 5cc of water? I soon found out why after mixing the mixture together!!

After mixing in the water, the mixture however turn into something like………….

Shit perhaps?? So all i need to do now is to knead the “shit” into something like burger meat…..

After various attempts to shape and knead…..i finally got the meat into shape!!! now …..in real life after kneading the meat what do we do? Cook them right??
1st….we need some oil to pan fry the meat…..

Open the packet, mixed with some water, and there you have it @ no. 4 !! oil ready to fry!!!
Place the meat on top and………..
WALAH! The meat is cooking!
( i was actually really amazed by the frying part! It actually has the frying sound too!!)

The meat is ready!!!
And now, all we need to do is to put everything together!!
1st, we have the bread…….

and then the cheese, lectuce & tomato!!! Which are made out of plastic and really fake ok!!!

When i 1st saw the fake veggies, i cannot help but wonder, the toy manufacturer made us go all the way to make the burgers look like real stuff, and then they gave us fake veggies!! I really don’t get it….but it guess if they were to ask me to make veggies, i think i will go crazy!!! Making the burgers is enough to drive me crazy!
After the veggies, we have the most important element……the meat!!

ALMOST DONE!!! Now, put the bun on top and we have it!!!!

Too bad i didn’t quiet manage to get the shape of the bun right, it’s supposed to puff up just like the burger buns….but guess i just need to try again!!!
Geez…@ 1st i thought….hey, it’s just a children’s toy….should be quiet easy right? But when i actually tried it…it wasn’t as easy as i thought!!! And to some levels, i don’t think it’s really suitable for young kids, i mean do they really know how to shape and knead something into perfect shapes?? But then again….kids these days are damn smart too…so maybe they can do a better job than me!!!! If you are a parent and would like to know more information on this set of toys, you can go to http://www.bandai-asia.com/girlshobbytoys/ they’ve got so many varieties!! Which kinda constantly make my heart itchy !!! hehehe…….

So how many orders would you like?

I cannot remember his name…haha…well…he’s not my favourite character anyway….
Exparda & the one with red hair…also one of my favourite, RENJI!!

Oh, the rice is ready! Look! Let’s use some of the rice to make a heart shaped decoration…
Let the rice set in the mold for a while…..while waiting for that, we shall move onto making tomato rice!

These are the EBI waiting to be fried!!

This blog is about the who, what, where, when, do,does, did, done of my everyday life!! So i name it, the Rainbow of my everyday life!!!
