making noodles with my hair

About this Work 
I curate a performance where hair is painted with red acrylic, then cut, then assembled into noodles resembling zha jiang mian, then swallowed. The performance highlights an apparent discomfort tethering between American-ness and Chinese-ness -- that schism between the East and West, femininity and masculinity, chopsticks and forks.

The last minutes of the film, I am unapologetically taking large bites into my noodles, holding my rice bowl and chopsticks with my large, Californian sun-beat arms, nude in a brown bandeau, and giving absolutely zero fucks.

And then, at the last 3 seconds, I disappear.
